My resignation letter to the World Class Athlete Boxing Program

I, Sergeant Heather Hartman hereby resign from the Army World Class Athlete Program due to the following reasons:  sexual harassment, training drills that were unsafe and violated USA boxing rules, a threat of getting kicked out of the program, and the inability to place me in the Olympic weight class at  a national and international qualifying tournament.

I was the first female boxer in the World Class Athlete Program.  Only after 6 weeks in the boxing program I filed a Equal Opportunity complaint addressing the sexual harassment and an Inspector General complaint addressing the leadership issues(which was never finished or addressed).  After several weeks of inaction on the leadership issues I contacted Congressmen Pete Starks, Senator Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein's office all of which started congressional inquiries on my behalf.  All of the congressional inquires have came back and are filled with half truths and lies.  I will be posting the actual inquires and rebuttal letters.  I have also filed grievances with USA Boxing regarding the dangerous training drills that violated USA boxing rules.

A drill practiced everyday, that violated USA Boxing rules they called shadow/box sparring whereby no one wore any protective equipment and there was full boxer to boxer contact.  While I was there a boxer suffered a concussion due to this drill.  The first two boxers you see in the video, the boxer doing the hitting was the guy who walked into me while I was changing in the locker room three times and the guy who is getting hit told me he had a eye problems but yet no protective gear.  A new promotional video released shows this exact drill, click below to see.
